Carrizal Rioja Reserva 2005

• Perfect to drink right now. The producers kept this wine until it was ready so don't be tempted to hoard it.
• Perfect for Sunday lunch.
• Wonderful with roast lamb.

We Say...

The key word here is 'Reserva' which means that it is made from superior grapes and only released when it is ready to drink. Made in a traditional style (very smooth, loads of caramel), this is a huge quality step up from bog standard Rioja.

Almost like Radfor Dale Shiraz! very tast, warm, fruity, slightly peppery aftertaste, £9 ok. (My note was about a 2003, not 2005, sadly; the 2005 doesn't seem as good as my notes imply)
